Public Safety director."The suspect is not from Grand Haven," Hawke told reporters. "We're unsure, unclear on whether he is acting alone or not. The investigation is rapidly expanding into other areas of Michigan. No indication of a motive at this time. That part of the investigation is still ongoing."According to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety, the suspect said there were explosives in his truck, however no explosives were found.Initially the incident was investigated as a potential act of domestic terrorism, but police found there was no evidence that was the case. All Coast Guard personnel are safe. All road closures and shelter-in-place alerts around the area were lifted.According to a U.S. Coast Guard news release, the Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan in Milwaukee was notified that the Ottawa County Dispatch had received a telephone call about 6 a.m. from "an unknown man claiming he had a bomb in his truck and was going to blow up Station Grand Haven."The Coast Guard said the man drove a four-door Dodge Ram pickup into the gate while evacuations of personnel at Coast Guard Station Grand Haven and Coast Guard Sector Field Grand Haven were taking place in the city of about 10,895 located about 34 miles west of Grand Rapids.Sheriff's officials in Oceana County said Sunday they were called to a fire about 4 a.m. about 45 miles north in Golden Township. The man held in the Grand Haven case is the last known occupant of the building where the fire occurred. The FBI and Michigan State Police bomb squad went to the Oceana County scene, which was a home that had been remodeled to look like an old gas station. The suspect in the Grand Haven case lived in a residence in that building and had been seen there Saturday.Hawke had said the incident was being treated as "an act of domestic terrorism" because it occurred at a federal building.Contributing: The Associated PressDean Smith, college coaching legend, dies at 83Feb 08, 2015
