Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof says the Kidex project will be taken to the Cabinet for further discussions. – The Malaysian Insider pic, February 17, 2015.Selangor's cancelled Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project will be taken to the Cabinet by the Works Ministry, Bernama reported today.Its minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said this was to seek a solution to the issue."The Works Ministry feels the issue has to be resolved through discussions with all quarters to arrive at the best solution for the good of the people," he was quoted as saying.Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali announced Kidex was canned yesterday, saying the concessionaire, Kidex Sdn Bhd, had failed to fulfil three special conditions set by the state government. The concessionaire's deadline was last Saturday.The conditions included preparing an independent traffic, social impact and environmental impact assessments to prove that the project would benefit not only road users, but also those living along the highway alignment, as well as the negative impact of the project.The 26.1-km highway was projected to start from the New Klang Valley Expressway toll above the Sprint Highway at the Damansara interchange and end at the Damansara-Puchong Highway at Bandar Kinrara Section 2. – February 17, 2015.
